The feel

Moose's Tooth opened in June 1996, founded by two college friends, Rod Hancock and Matt Jones. The pizzas are hand-tossed, stone-baked and made from scratch every time, and the beer is Broken Tooth Brewing, which crafts over 20 styles and 2 sodas.

No reservations are taken, so come prepared to grab a pint and wait for a table. The brewery has won 2 gold and 6 bronze medals from the Great American Beer Festival, plus a silver and a bronze from the World Beer Cup, and a Revolving Tap list cycles through new brews.

What to expect

Setting

A busy pub and pizzeria at 3300 Old Seward Highway where the wait for a table is part of the visit.

Hours

Mon to Fri 10:30AM to 11:00PM, Sat and Sun 11:00AM to 11:00PM.

Food and drink

Pizza starts at $11.95 for a pepperoni. Lunch slices from 10:30AM to 2PM run $3.75 for cheese, $4.25 for pepperoni and $5.00 for the daily special. A pint is $7.00, a pitcher $27.00 and a four-beer sampler flight $9.00. Root beer and cream soda are on draft.

Crowds and best time

Expect a wait for a table. Weekday lunch slices are served 10:30AM to 2PM.
