907 Ale House & Grill
Anchorage
The feel
This is a sports bar on Old Seward Highway, and it does not pretend otherwise. The dining room is enormous, with a huge bar and a long lineup of beer taps, high tops and plenty of dining tables around the edges. One corner holds pool tables and another is set up for live performances. A count on one Friday night found 38 TV screens.
The menu is bar food classics: burgers, tacos, sandwiches including a reindeer hot dog, and several macaroni and cheeses, one of them vegan. Wings, poutine skillet, nachos and fried cheese curds fill out the appetizers.
