Alaska Zoo

Anchorage

The feel

The Alaska Zoo sits on 30 acres of natural boreal forest on the lower foothills of the Chugach Mountains, and its trails wind through the woods. It is the only zoo in Alaska, and its animals include polar bears, black bears, an Amur tiger, snow leopard, wolves and moose.

The polar bears are Cranbeary and Kova. In summer, feeding experiences run daily: moose and muskox at 10:30am, alpaca and porcupine at 12:30pm, and black bear at 2:30pm.
