Alcantra Loop
The feel
This is a paved path through a mixed forest of birch and spruce on gentle terrain, at the Alcantra Sports Complex in Wasilla. Two loops make up the trail: a short one around the baseball field and a longer one that runs parallel to the residential area to the south.
Joggers, walkers, bikers and disc golf players share the path. The greenbelt around it is habitat for small animals, birds and moose. Wild rose flowers bloom here in summer and high bush cranberries ripen in fall, and with ample snow the trails are groomed for Nordic skiing.
