The feel

This is a 19-acre campground with 60 walk-in sites on the wooded north shore of Big Lake, about 13 miles west of Wasilla. The road ends here, 1.4 miles along North Shore Drive from the roundabout.

In summer the lake is the draw. Boating and fishing are extremely popular, and people come for waterskiing, jet skiing and swimming. There is a boat launch, 24 picnic sites and 4 picnic shelters. Winter brings snowmobiling, dog mushing, ice fishing and cross-country skiing.
