Lake Lucille Loop
The feel
About 1.6 miles of trails run around the perimeter of the park, linking the athletic fields on the south side to Lake Lucille on the north. The terrain is gentle, crossing open fields and heavily wooded forest of birch, spruce and cottonwood.
A boardwalk runs along the shore of the lake. The park also has a playground, picnic tables and large parking areas.

Mingo says
Confirm the trail has reopened before you drive out, since it is reported closed. Once open, it works year-round: hike or run in summer, snowshoe in winter.
Before you go
- Call Wasilla Public Works at 907-373-9010 to ask whether the trail is open.
- Pack insect spray.
- Keep dogs on a leash, or use the fenced dog park.
