Kepler-Bradley Lakes (Palmer)

The feel

These are roadside stocked lakes made for a quick outing. They hold rainbow trout, Arctic char and landlocked salmon, and you can fish from the bank or a canoe. Matanuska Lakes State Recreation Area on the Glenn Highway has trails, launches and day-use sites.

The lakes are stocked several times a year, and crowds are low. The gear is standard bait, spin or fly, and the lakes are great for kids.
