The feel

Bleeding Heart is a taproom with a kitchen in a warehouse space in the old Farmers Coop building under Palmer's historic water tower. There is indoor seating and a covered outdoor seating area.

The kitchen runs hoagie-style sandwiches, tomato bisque, a hummus platter and prosciutto mac and cheese. Sundays are the draw, with a brunch of biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, stuffed French toast and a smoked salmon bagel.

What to expect

Setting: A warehouse taproom at 562 South Denali St, Palmer, in the old Farmers Coop building under the historic water tower, with indoor seating and a covered outdoor seating area.
Hours: Tuesday to Friday 2pm to 8pm, Saturday 12pm to 9pm, Sunday 11am to 5pm. Monday is not listed. The kitchen runs Tuesday to Friday 2pm to 7:30pm and Saturday 12pm to 8:30pm; Sunday brunch runs 11am to 4:30pm, or until sold out.
Food and drink: Hoagie-style sandwiches at $16 to $18, including the Italian "Iron Mike" and the club "Lil Jim" (gluten-free available); tomato bisque at $7 a cup or $12 a bowl; a hummus platter at $16; prosciutto mac and cheese at $16 or $9 for a half order; a BHB Grain Train bowl at $22; a monthly dessert at $12 to $17. Sunday brunch has biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash ($19), stuffed French toast ($17), a Monte Cristo ($17), a smoked salmon bagel ($18), a BLT ($18) and Pisto ($16). Brunch drinks include a Seltzer-Mosa ($9), a Beer-Mosa, a Red Beer, and coffee or tea at $4 with unlimited refills; the coffee is from Alaska Artisan Coffee.
Crowds and best time: Brunch is Sundays only and the kitchen runs 11am to 4:30pm, or until sold out.

Aim for the early part of Sunday brunch, since the kitchen runs only until it sells out. On other days the kitchen closes before the taproom does, so order food first.
