Crevasse Moraine Trail System

Palmer

The feel

Crevasse Moraine is a non-motorized system of about 6.7 miles on the west side of Palmer, and the loops run over ridges and depressions left by glaciers. In summer it is used for hiking, biking, running and horseback riding. Trail markers show the grade, and the loops range from novice to expert depending on the sport.

The trails link to the wider Matanuska Greenbelt, and the Long Lake Trail connects them to the Kepler-Bradley State Recreation Area trail system. High school ski and running teams often train here. In winter, with ample snow, the trails are groomed for cross-country skiing, and a steep sledding hill sits near the lower parking lot.
