Seward KOA Holiday

The feel

This is a full-service campground 5 minutes outside Seward and 5 minutes from Exit Glacier, set 1 mile down Herman Leirer Rd, the Exit Glacier road. Pull-thru sites have full hookups, a concrete patio, a gas grill and a built-in fire ring, and the back-in sites are gravel with room for an RV and a tent.

On site there is a game room, a playground, a putt putt course and a dog park. Pets are welcome on a leash, and a KAMP K9 dog run is on site.

What to expect

Layout and setting

RV and tent sites off Herman Leirer Rd, with 72 sites, cabins, a store, a game room, a playground and a putt putt course. Pull-thru sites have full hookups and 50/30/20 amps. Back-in water and electric sites have a picnic table, a fire ring and room for a tent.

Check-in and stay

Campers and tents check in at 2:00 pm and out at 11:00 am. Cabins check in at 3:00 pm and out at 11:00 am.

Parking and rig size

50 max amp and 100' max length.

Fees and reservations

From $72 a night. Cancelling an RV or tent site takes 7 days notice and costs a $20 fee. Reserve at 1-907-224-4887.

Dogs

Pets are welcome if they are not aggressive, on a leash and cleaned up after, at no charge on campsites. A KAMP K9 dog run is on site.

Kids

A playground and a putt putt course are on site.

Hazards

Bears are common. No fish carcasses go in the dumpster or in the woods around the park.

Bathrooms and water

Showers and laundry are on site, and there is a dump station.

Season and access

Open April 15 to September 30. Turn onto Herman Leirer Rd (Exit Glacier Rd) from the Seward Highway; the campground is 1 mile down on the right.

Come between April 15 and September 30, the only dates the campground is open. Keep fish scraps out of the dumpster, since bears are common here.

Before you go

• Call 1-907-224-4887 to reserve; RV and tent cancellations need 7 days notice.
• Check your rig against the 100' max length and 50 max amp.
• Bring propane or firewood money; both are sold on site.
• Overnight visitors cost $5 a night.
