What it is like
Miller's Landing in Seward is a private beachfront camp at Lowell Point, where kayaks and water taxis launch onto Resurrection Bay. The 30 sites are reservable by phone or online, from May to September. The camp has toilets, showers, beach sites and kayak and taxi service.
The camp is in Seward, and the rocky Lowell Point shoreline is a spot for silvers, pinks and rockfish from August to September. The North Beach at Caines Head, 0.3 miles away, is a beach walk to an abandoned WWII fort, and you must time the low tide. The Alaska SeaLife Center is Seward's ocean research aquarium, with puffins, a 2,000-lb Steller sea lion and touch tanks.
