What it is like
Forest Acres Campground is a quiet, wooded city campground off the highway in Seward, a leafy alternative to the busy waterfront. It runs May to September with about 24 sites, vault toilets, water and picnic tables. The city runs it, and sites are first-come.
This camp is in Seward. Seavey's IdidaRide, 1 mile away, runs a summer cart ride behind a real sled dog team. The Northeast Harbor Ramp is a paved launch with 3 lanes and a fuel dock right beside it. The Kenai Fjords boat tour, 1.3 miles away, cruises into the national park for whales, sea otters, Steller sea lions and puffins.
