Skinny Dick's Halfway Inn
Fairbanks
The feel
A roadside bar at milepost 328 on the Parks Highway, between Fairbanks and Nenana, and a well known Alaska waypoint. Weathered cutouts of bears and a large Gift Shop sign stand outside. The building went up in 1955 as a sawmill and became a bar called Halfway House in 1969.
The place is known for adult humor. Skinny Dick sold the business in 2003 and died in 2008, and the bar went to friends who kept it running.
