Farmers Loop Road Path

The feel

This is a paved, physically separated multi-use path running the length of Farmers Loop Road past UAF. It is popular with commuters, fitness cyclists and roller skiers. A repaved section near the Steese/Johansen end had been in disrepair for years and was redone.

North of campus, Farmers Loop runs from the University Avenue and College Road intersection. Ballaine Lake sits on the left, with a parking lot on its north bank. Moose are common on the campus trails.

Open year-round. Winter riding needs a fat bike on plowed sections.
