Willow Creek
Willow
The feel
Willow Creek is a big Valley salmon creek with a state recreation area at the mouth, where it meets the Susitna. It holds kings, silvers, pinks and chum, and the creek feeds a river with several salmon runs. Rainbow trout, grayling and Dolly Varden are fished here too.
It is one of the Valley heavy hitters, and the crowds are high. Anglers fish from the bank with spin gear or flies, or from a drift boat, and Alaska State Parks manages the Willow Creek Confluence recreation area.
