Whiskey Gulch Beach Launch

The feel

This is a beach launch for small boats near Anchor Point, and it is not a polished ramp. The beach is gravelly and it is easy to get a vehicle stuck, so anglers who launch here carry a plan for getting unstuck. The access road is open seasonally and the grade is extremely steep.

The launch also works as the starting point for the beach north toward the mouth of Stariski Creek, about two miles away by four-wheeler.

Parking

There is a Whiskey Gulch parking area.

Hazards

It is easy to get a vehicle stuck on the gravelly beach. Do not attempt to launch if the surf is large. The access road grade is extremely steep. On really large high tides, access back to the Whiskey Gulch parking area may not be possible.

Whiskey Gulch Access Road is open seasonally.

Skip the launch on any day with large surf. Check the tide table first, since a very large high tide can cut you off from the parking area.

Before you go

• Pack a plan and the gear to get your vehicle unstuck on the gravel.
• Drive the access road slowly because of its extremely steep grade.
