Clunie Lake
Eagle River
The feel
Clunie Lake is JBER's largest lake and a recreation area used for picnicking, camping, fishing and wildlife viewing. Getting there is part of the trip: the route runs along base roads with several turns, and the last one is a signed turnoff on the right. The fish here are landlocked salmon, and the lake is open to fishing for them.
What to expect
- Water and access
- A lake on JBER. From the Ft. Rich/Arctic Valley gate, drive straight on D St. 2.2 miles, turn right on Otter Lake Road for 2.3 miles, continue straight onto Route Bravo for 4.5 miles, then turn right at the 3-way intersection onto Artillary Road (signed "To All Lakes?"). Continue 3.7 miles to the signed Clunie Lake turnoff on the right.
