Susitna Landing
Talkeetna
The feel
Susitna Landing sits near the confluence of the Kashwitna and Susitna rivers, with three camping loops for RV and tent camping and a covered picnic area with fire rings. A double-lane ramp and a boarding float serve boaters, and fish cleaning tables are on site for the day's catch.
The water holds king, silver, red, chum and pink salmon, plus Dolly Varden, rainbow trout, Arctic grayling and northern pike. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game owns and operates the site.

Mingo says
Plan a May to September trip around the river, since the launch reaches many tributaries in the Susitna drainage. Pick a loop with electric hookups if you bring a rig.
