Talkeetna Spur Pathway
Talkeetna
The feel
A wide, paved pathway follows the Talkeetna Spur Road, and it starts downtown in Talkeetna. The area is mostly flat with a few rolling hills, and it points toward the Alaska Range. A local shop owner calls it excellent for casual cruising.
The path also gives access to the area's trails. XYZ Lakes is about 2 miles from downtown, and the narrow shoulder on Comsat Road is the one spot that calls for care. The path connects to the Chase Trail at its northern end.

Mingo says
Plan your ride inside the May to October season. The route points straight at the Alaska Range, so choose a clear day.

- Rent a bike at North Shore Cyclery on 2nd Street; they also handle quick repairs.
- Bring bug spray.
- Turn left on Comsat Road to reach XYZ Lakes parking, and watch the narrow shoulder.
