The Marlin
Fairbanks
The feel
The Marlin is a small basement bar at 3412 College Rd, just off the college campus near UAF. It is a dive bar and live music venue, with karaoke on Thursdays and live music some weekends.
The previous owner closed it in May 2020 after roughly 20 years. Nathan Davis bought it and reopened on Nov. 26, 2021, with John Shewfelt Jr. & Shot Time. He planned only a few remodeling improvements to keep the bar's core vibe, and his plan was live music every weekend.
