Jims Landing (upper Kenai take-out)

Cooper Landing

The feel

Jims Landing is the end-of-float take-out where the upper Kenai bends toward Skilak. It sits at the head of the Kenai Canyon before Skilak, about 6 river miles below Sportsmans, and it is the standard place to take out.

A gravel ramp and parking sit off the Skilak Lake Loop Road at Mile 58 of the Sterling Highway. Crowds run high, and the lot can jam with trailers midday.
