Kenai Riverside Campground & RV Park

The feel

This is Kenai River frontage at milepost 49.7 on the Sterling Highway in Cooper Landing, in red-salmon country. It is about a 2.5-hour drive from Anchorage and a 1-hour drive from Seward, Soldotna or Kenai.

Fishing, canoeing and kayaking start close by, and boat rentals are available. A bathhouse with flush toilets and hot showers serves the park, tent camping is allowed, and firewood and ice are available on site.

What to expect

Layout and setting

24 to 31 sites on the Kenai River, with electric and water sites, no-hookup sites and 2 pull-thrus. Tent camping is allowed.

Parking and rig size

Rigs up to 70 ft are accepted, but the maximum is also given as 40 ft, so confirm yours by phone.

Fees and reservations

$20.00 to $35.00 per night depending on site. Reservable, and credit cards are accepted.

Pet friendly. Call for restrictions and fees.

Kids

All ages are welcome.

Bathrooms and water

Water at the sites, flush toilets, hot showers and a bathhouse. A dump station is on site.

Fishing the river from the park fits a trip inside the season, which ends September 7. Late spring and summer both work, since the season opens in mid May.
