What it is like
Quartz Creek Campground, near Cooper Landing, is a Chugach National Forest campground with 45 sites at the north end of Kenai Lake. The roads and spurs are paved, and some sites are double sites. It runs May to September, with water, toilets, lakeside sites and a boat launch, and it is reservable on recreation.gov.
The campground is about 3.1 miles from Cooper Landing, in the Eastern Kenai area. Cooper Landing Brewing, 0.4 miles away, has a patio, craft pints and a burger truck, with live concerts on the calendar. Crescent Creek Campground, 0.9 miles away, has 9 sites up Quartz Creek Road and leads to the Crescent Lake trail. For a river day, Jim's Landing is the classic Kenai River trailhead with easy gravel access.
