Reflections Lake Loop
The feel
Reflections Lake sits at the confluence of the Knik and Matanuska Rivers in the Palmer Hay Flats. A flat gravel path circles the mirror-calm lake through birch, cottonwood and alder. Songbirds fill the trees from spring through summer, and moose and trumpeter swans are frequent sights.
A 35-foot viewing tower on the northwest side of the lake is the spot to watch from, and ducks, geese, swans and sandhill cranes are all worth watching for. The path has overlooks and interpretive panels along the way, and it is accessible to wheelchairs, as is the lower level of the tower.
