Denali View South Rim Loop
The feel
This loop leaves the Prospect Heights trailhead, turns onto the Powerline Trail, and after about 1/4 mile follows a sign to the South Fork Rim Trail. That stretch runs along the edge of a valley carved by the South Fork of Campbell Creek, with views of the creek and the mountains. Several bluffs make good places to stop for photos.
On a clear day the views reach Denali. The trail is generally in good condition, though some sections are overgrown and muddy.

Mingo says
Pick a clear day, since Denali only shows then. Walk the loop clockwise.
Before you go
- Bring $5 for day use at the Prospect Heights trailhead.
- Wear shoes you do not mind getting muddy.
- Bicycles are permitted on the South Fork Rim Trail, so watch for riders.
