Chanshtnu Muldoon Park
The feel
The loop crosses the South Fork of Chester Creek and circles a pond, with views of the Chugach Mountains. The park covers 26.74 acres of upland forest and open meadow at the southeast corner of Muldoon and DeBarr.
"Chanshtnu" is the Dena'ina name for Chester Creek, and "Muldoon" honors an early Anchorage homesteader in the area. The park opened in June 2018 with an ice-skating ribbon, farmers market space, an inclusive playground and a picnic pavilion. A fenced dog park, a community garden and food forest, and nature trails with overlooks followed in 2021.
