Lower Cook Inlet Tanner Crab

The feel

Kachemak Bay Tanner crab season runs October through February, and it takes a crabbing permit. Crabs are harvested in pot or ring nets set in 350-600 ft of water, primarily west of the Homer Spit.

This is a boat fishery on ocean water. Most boats launch out of the Homer Harbor or Seldovia Harbor, and the fishery centers on Kachemak Bay.
