Homer Harbor boat launch
Homer
The feel
Five launch lanes sit at the Homer Small Boat Harbor at the base of the Homer Spit. The ramp has a staffed booth in business hours and a pay kiosk otherwise, and the harbor stays open and ice free year round.
Crowds are very high. Charters run halibut and salmon trips from here across Kachemak Bay and lower Cook Inlet, so the harbor works for private boats and charter clients alike.

Aim for the May to August halibut window, or July to September if coho are your target. Expect a busy ramp either way.
