Morgan's Landing State Recreation Area
Sterling
The feel
Morgan's Landing sits on high wooded bluffs above the Kenai River, with a staircase down to prime bank-fishing water. The river carries major runs of king, red, silver and pink salmon, plus trophy rainbow trout and Dolly Varden.
The area also supports large concentrations of bald eagles and many migratory waterfowl, and moose, caribou, wolves and bears use the river system too. A river trail runs through the grounds.
