Alaska Canoe & Campground
Sterling
The feel
This is a campground and rental base on the Sterling Highway in Sterling, at Mile Post 84. It has 25 sites for RVs and tents, and it is not on the water itself: a lake is about a half mile away and the Moose/Kenai River is about one mile away.
Canoes, kayaks, rafts and drift boats are available, with canoes and kayaks meant for the lakes and drift boats and rafts for the Kenai River. Cabins, cottages, motel-style kitchenettes and a Fisherman's Lodge are on the property too.

Mingo says
Book a boat for the day you plan to paddle, and match it to the water. Take the canoe or kayak to a lake and the drift boat or raft to the Kenai.

- Check that your rig is 45 ft or shorter.
