Rodak Nature Trail
The feel
This is a short nature loop with interpretive signage and benches, leading to a Beaver Viewing Deck and a Salmon Viewing Deck. The deck over a braid of the Eagle River and opens views to Eagle River Overlook (5,137 feet) and Hurdygurdy Mountain (5,994 feet).
The surface is wooden boardwalk with railings or gravel, at least 4 feet wide, with benches and picnic tables for resting. It is the only wheelchair accessible trail at the center, though it is somewhat challenging. Bears and moose are commonly sighted, and brown bears feed on salmon in shallow water between the beaver dams.
