Mount Gordon Lyon Trail
The feel
The trail mirrors the Rendezvous Peak Trail until the saddle, where it takes a left toward the less used fork. A small spring-fed creek runs most of the way up the valley. From the summit you get a 360 view of Anchorage, Eagle River and the South Fork Valley.
Fewer people make the trek than go to Rendezvous Peak. The ski area land makes this a summer-only hike. Smaller trails formed by berry pickers branch off the main path, so stay on the main trail.
