Bold Ridge (Eklutna)
The feel
Bold Ridge is a steep ridge climb high above Eklutna Lake. It starts at mile 5 of the Eklutna Lakeside Trail, an old road bed that follows the shore of the lake, and the first five miles of that approach are flat and easy.
The climb itself begins as a moderate grade on a well used trail for the first 3.5 miles. After that the trail is steep and less developed. Along the ridgeline you look out over Bold Peak, Eklutna Lake and the glacier, and the panorama is one of the best in Chugach State Park.
