Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum

The feel

The museum is the large grey building right off the frontage road on Airport Way. Inside are over 115 restored and preserved vehicles, with thousands of vintage fashions from the 18th to the mid-20th centuries and over 80 of them on display.

Exhibits, artifacts, photographs and archival videos tell the story of America's early love affair with the automobile and Alaska's early motoring history. All but three of the cars are operable, and many get driven as weather permits, especially in summer on the grounds of Wedgewood Resort.

Crowds and best time

Winter hours are Wednesday and Sunday, 12PM to 4PM. Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Parking

Free paved parking. Motor coach drop-off is at the south end of the museum.

Fees and passes

Ages 13 and above $20, ages six to 12 $10, 5 and under free. Adult season pass $100; family season pass $150 for up to two adults and four children under 18. The guided tour is $32 per person with a 12 person minimum.

Kids

Children 5 and under are free and ages six to 12 pay $10.

Plan your visit for a Wednesday or Sunday afternoon in winter hours. Many of the cars get driven in summer, so a summer visit is your best chance to see one on the road.
