Seldovia Harbor (boat launch)
Seldovia
The feel
Seldovia has no road. It is a small city harbor southwest of the Seldovia airport, on the far side of Kachemak Bay from Homer, and crowds are low. The launch is right in the harbor, and it is a quiet jump-off to the same outer Kachemak Bay grounds Homer boats fish.
The City Dock is an Alaska Marine Highway ferry terminal. King salmon fishing is highlighted from the Seldovia Slough Bridge in the center of town.

Mingo says
Time the trip for May to August for halibut, or July to September for coho. For king salmon, the bridge downtown is the spot to try.
Before you go
- Launch and moorage fees are not confirmed, so ask the Seldovia harbormaster.
- Carry a federal halibut stamp.
- Plan the trip around the ferry, water taxi or small plane, since the harbor has no road access.
