Ninilchik Harbor (river mouth)

Ninilchik

The feel

This is a small, shallow, tide-gated harbor dredged from the Ninilchik River mouth at Ninilchik village. Smaller boats use it on the tide. It sits in the shadow of the busier Deep Creek tractor launch a few miles south, where most anglers go instead, and crowds here are low. Halibut run 20 to 80 lb from May through August, and anglers fish for them by trolling, jigging or bait.
