Lake Lucille (Wasilla)

The feel

Lake Lucille is an in-town lake in Wasilla with pike and stocked trout. The boardwalk and boat launch at Lake Lucille Park make it an easy after-work cast. The lake covers about 350 acres, and most of the shoreline is private, so the park is where you get on the water.

The city park also has a campground, pavilions, fields and a playground. The lake is popular in summer and for ice fishing in winter, and crowds are low.

Species and timing

Northern pike, 2-10 lb, in June, July and August. Stocked rainbow trout. Season is May to September.

Pike are invasive, with no limit, and you should harvest all of them. Do not move pike live. Stocked trout have standard limits.

Come from June through August if you want pike. The lake holds illegally introduced pike that suppress the trout, so keeping them helps the stocked fish.
