Chena River Canoe access at the Peger Bridge/Pioneer Park
Fairbanks
The feel
This is a non-motorized boat launch on the Chena River at Pioneer Park in Fairbanks, used by canoeists, kayakers and rafters. Outfitters such as Canoe Alaska often put in here. Parking is off Peger Road.
The launch can be difficult to use because of shallow water with an eddy, and the gravel parking lot is often over capacity during the summer.

Mingo says
Expect the lot to be full in summer. The shallow water and eddy are what make launching tricky.
