Windbreak Cafe & Bar
Wasilla
The feel
The Windbreak has sat on the Parks Highway in Wasilla since 1981, started by Bob Andres, nicknamed Bob Trout, and Dallas Wymore. It is a roadside hotel with a cafe and a lounge, and valley regulars are welcome.
The lounge has a large display of salmon, rainbow trout and Dolly Varden caught in Alaska, and it is a meeting place for local fishing enthusiasts. The cafe serves homestyle cookin' with Alaska size portions.
