Bluff Cabin Lake Trail
The feel
The trail starts at Tanana Loop Extension and heads north up a wide dirt path over forested ridges, with a short descent before it undulates to Bluff Cabin Lake. The Delta Junction Trails Association keeps it up: a crowned gravel cap covers the first 1.3 miles, and a newer 3.7-mile route connects Bluff Cabin Ridge to the lake. Volunteers clean out drainage each year, drag the gravel smooth and remove downed trees.
It is a multi-use trail, shared with off-roaders, snowmobilers, dirt bikers, e-bikers, horseback riders, snowshoers and Nordic skiers. Camping and fishing are popular, and wildlife encounters are common.
