Sullivan Roadhouse Historical Museum

The feel

This is the oldest roadhouse in Interior Alaska, a log lodge built in 1905 by John and Florence Sullivan on the Valdez-Fairbanks Trail. Inside, recreated rooms and interpretive exhibits show what turn of the century travel looked like. The kitchen has period cookware, utensils and a wood stove, and the bedroom holds the Sullivans' iron bed and hand-sawn furniture.

Outside, a garden of colorful wildflowers sits beside a traditional vegetable garden and potato patch, with interpretive pathways to walk. It stands in the heart of Delta Junction, across from the Delta Visitor Center.
