The year round headquarters of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, with a small museum, gift shop, and a working kennel where visitors can meet sled dogs. In summer, dog team cart rides substitute for the snow the dogs actually race on. A statue of Balto and other trail monuments stand outside.
