Five 20-foot concrete panels, one each for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard, stand in a semicircle at Byers Lake with Denali often visible behind them on a clear day. Two Territorial Guard sentries carved by George Pratt greet you at the entrance. Built in 1983 and dedicated August 11, 1984, it is one of the best-known war memorials in the state and sits directly on the Parks Highway.
