Trail Lakes (Moose Pass)

The feel

These are roadside lakes off the Seward Highway near Moose Pass, with easy launch and bank spots and a hatchery nearby. You can fish from the shore or put a boat in, and crowds stay low. Lake trout run 2-8 lb, Dolly Varden run 10-16 in, and rainbow trout are in the mix too. Troll, jig or spin, and no special gear restriction applies, so the gear list stays simple for a day on the water.
