Long Lake (Kenai Peninsula)

The feel

Long Lake is a remote, walk-in lake near Moose Pass with rustic camping sites at the south end of the lake. Rainbow trout fishing is open year-round.

From the Grayling Lake Trailhead on the west side of the Seward Highway, hike 1.0 mile to the "Y" in the trail. Take the right fork approximately 0.4 miles to the Meridian/Long Lakes junction. The Long Lake trailhead is to the left shortly before reaching Meridian Lake.

Lake reached on foot from the Grayling Lake Trailhead at Mile 13.2 of the Seward Highway: 1.0 mile to the "Y", then the right fork approximately 0.4 miles to the Meridian/Long Lakes junction.

Rainbow trout, year-round.

The Grayling Lake Trailhead is on the west side of the Seward Highway.

Year-round for rainbow trout.

Any month works for rainbows, so choose your day by the weather. Walk in with camping gear if you want a night at the rustic sites.
