Kenai personal use dipnet (July 10 to July 31) The Kenai River dipnet fishery takes place at the mouth of the Kenai River and targets late-run sockeye salmon. This is the largest personal use fishery in the state and attracts large crowds, especially on the last 2 weekends in July. The fishery consist of a shore based section and also a boat fishery. Main access is through the public access sites on the North and South Kenai beaches for shore anglers. Boat anglers mainly access through the City of Kenai dock or navigate downstream form Eagle Rock boat launch. The fishery is open to Alaska Residents only.
