Johnson Lake SRA (Kasilof)

The feel

Johnson Lake State Recreation Area sits at Mile 110 of the Sterling Highway near Kasilof, a campground stocker and an easy trout stop while the Kasilof kings are closed. The park covers 332 acres around the lake, with a campground, day-use area and shore access.

The lake is stocked with catchable rainbow trout and landlocked salmon, and trout run 10-14 in. Anglers fish from the bank with spin, bait or fly gear, and canoeing is a main draw too.
