Swiftwater Park Campground
Soldotna
The feel
Swiftwater Park winds through forest that borders the banks of the Kenai River. It is secluded from the busy summer activity in Soldotna, on 59.88 acres plus a .62 acre island.
More than 800 feet of elevated boardwalk and fishwalk platforms let you walk or fish along the river's edge without disturbing the fragile riverbank. Six sets of river-access stairs lead down to the water, and there is one boat launch and one pavilion. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit.

Mingo says
Plan to arrive for Memorial Day weekend, when overnight camping opens. Late July carries the higher peak rate, so pick other dates if you want the lower one.
