Karen Hornaday Campground
Homer
The feel
This city campground sits on the wooded hillside above Karen Hornaday Park and Playground, with views over Kachemak Bay and the spit. A playground sits in the park below, and each site has a picnic table and a fire pit.
You pay at the pay station by the kiosk, with cash or card, and clip the receipt onto the post at your site. Potable water is next to the registration kiosk at the entrance.

Mingo says
Plan a summer stop, since the season ends with the Labor Day holiday. Because there are no reservations, a site is yours only when you arrive and pay.
