Seavey's IdidaRide Sled Dog Tours

Seward

The feel

This is a working Iditarod kennel run by the Seavey family, ten minutes outside downtown Seward. Mitch Seavey won the Iditarod in 2004 and 2013, his father was one of the founders of the race, and his son Dallas has won it 4 times. Since 1993 the family has invited guests to the homestead in the off season for summer dog sled rides and kennel tours.

The ride covers about 2 miles on a wheeled sled, out to the base of Resurrection Mountain and along Box Canyon Creek. Back at the kennel you tour the facilities, watch a guest get dressed up as an Iditarod musher and cuddle husky puppies.
